Top level headings should be centered on the page, using upper and lower case. Second level headings should be flush left, italicized, using upper and lower case.
If I have a cover page as the example provided, do I still need the heading on the next page? And should the pages after that contain my last name on the top left as the header does on the on the previous pages?
Reply Stephen February 4, at 9: I have updated this article with information on the first page if a cover page is used.
You can omit the main heading but you still need your last name and page number on the first page and all subsequent pages. Reply Needshelp February 28, at 5: Reply Stephen February 28, at 7: Or you can set the Title a little larger than 12, that should work too.

I finally have a cover page for my paper!! Reply Lydia September 16, at 9: But, I was wondering do I still need to put my Title at the top of every page after the header?
Stephen September 17, at 7:On every page (except Figures), in the upper right margin, 1/2" from the top and flush with the right margin, two or three words of the paper title (this is called the running head) appear five spaces to the left of the page number, beginning with the title page.
hi im looking for the best title of my research paper and the topic is evaluation of construction activities for project control. can u help me what would be the best title for it. now im working on its review literature.
Reply. Munazza Afzal. January 7, On the page about the cover page it says to have the university name at the top, the title 1/3 down, and the name, course/teacher/date information at the bottom.
In the sample, there is no university name at the top, the title is 1/3 down, the name is in the middle of the page. The title page should contain the title of the paper, the author's name, and the institutional affiliation. Include the page header (described above) flush left with the page number flush right at the top of the page.
A research paper does not normally need a title page, but if the paper is a group project, create a title page and list all the authors on it instead of in the header on page 1 of your essay. If your teacher requires a title page in lieu of or in addition to the header, format it . On every page (except Figures), in the upper right margin, 1/2" from the top and flush with the right margin, two or three words of the paper title (this is called the running head) appear five spaces to the left of the page number, beginning with the title page.
